Special Olympics Washington West Seattle is a community-based program where athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities build confidence, experience joy, and form meaningful friendships through sport and leadership opportunities.
By bringing together athletes, families, volunteers, and local partners, we’re growing a supportive West Seattle network centered on participation, encouragement, and supportive relationships— both on and off the field.
Our kickoff fundraiser, the Seattle Polar Plunge & 5K, is the first step in building momentum and growing this local effort.

Thanks to our incredible community, we raised nearly $5,000 through the Seattle Polar Plunge & 5K Run to help launch and sustain Special Olympics Washington West Seattle.
Every donation and participant helped build momentum for our newly rebuilding local program. Funds raised will directly support uniforms, practice space, equipment, and the essential costs needed to grow year-round opportunities for our athletes.
