Winter Basketball Season

Basketball is coming to Special Olympics West Seattle!

Our newest program brings the energy of a true team sport to the court: passing, defending, running the floor together, and plenty of cheering from the sidelines. Because basketball is a fast-paced, competitive team sport, it works a little differently from our bocce, bowling, and swimming programs.

Our competitive team is open to athletes 18 and older, roster is limited 10 spots, and athletes should come in with basic fundamentals like dribbling, passing, shooting, and a general understanding of how the game is played. These expectations help keep every athlete safe on the court and make sure each player can contribute to their team and enjoy competing.

For athletes who are under 18 or still building their game, we're hoping to launch a Basketball Skills Team focused on learning the fundamentals in a fun, supportive setting. Whether you're on the court for tip-off or cheering from the stands, there's a place for you in our West Seattle community.
